Ingredients:
Soften 1 TB yeast in 1/4 c warm water.

Combine (and then cool to lukewarm):
3/4 c hot scalded milk (before a boil)
3 TB shortening
2 TB sugar
1 ½ tsp salt

Stir in 1 beaten egg and yeast mixture.

Add 2½ -3 c flour.

Topping:
3/4 c sugar
½ c brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 c chopped nuts

Glaze:
½ c powdered sugar
2 tsp milk
Instructions:
Knead well (5-7 minutes). Place in a greased bowl. Let rise 1 hour. Line several round cake pans or pie pans with foil. Cut dough into pieces. Form into round strips 6-8 inches long and ½ inch thick. Dip in melted butter then topping, pressing into dough. Wind into flat coil in pan. Cover, let rise until double.

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.

Cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze.
